Pelicans' Tyreke Evans (knee) getting further tests done
New Orleans Pelicans guard Tyreke Evans is undergoing further tests on his bothersome right knee to determine if surgery will be required to correct the issue.
While surgery has not yet officially been determined, it seems the likely route for Evans, who is playing on a 19-32 team with little hopes of making a postseason run. With Evans likely done for the year, Jrue Holiday and Norris Cole figure to see a boost in value while Bryce Dejean-Jones is now much more likely to sign a deal which will keep him with the team for the remainder of the season. Cole is worth a look in most leagues for those seeking a low-end point guard.
Evans' -0.5 nERD ranks 81st in the NBA, and he's only managed to play 25 games so far this season. He's averaging 15.2 points, 6.6 assists and 5.2 rebounds per game with a 53.4 True Shooting Percentage, which is the second-best clip of his career. Cole currently ranks 133rd with a -7.4 nERD.
