Sacramento Kings now plan to keep coach George Karl
The Sacramento Kings now plan to keep George Karl as head coach, according to ESPN's Marc Stein.
Coach Karl and general manager Vlade Divac reportedly had a long meeting on Tuesday in Philadelphia and got their differences worked out -- or at least out on the table. "George is our coach and we're collectively working through our issues," Divac wrote in a statement to ESPN. While they may put it off for a bit, this marriage still appears to be heading toward a divorce sooner or later. It will be interesting to see what happens going forward.
According to numberFire's Team Power Rankings, the Kings rank 20th in the league, and our models project them to finish with a record of 35-47 while giving them just a 4.8 percent chance of making the playoffs. Their offense ranks an impressive ninth, according to our metrics, but the defense checks in at 22nd. The Kings next game is on Wednesday against the Philadelphia 76ers.
