Kings players have reportedly tuned out coach George Karl
Sacramento Kings coach George Karl has been "tuned out" by his players, sources told The Vertical's Chris Mannix.
Additionally, the players are "privately seething over inefficient practices and shootarounds, and ineffective in-game adjustments from the bench." Per Mannix, "the front office's confidence in Karl has almost completely eroded," and it's gotten so bad under Vivek Ranadive's watch that minority owners "have quietly explored ways to seize controlling interest" from him. Things are not fine in Sacramento, and it would be shocking if the team didn't make (another) change at head coach.
According to numberFire's Team Power Rankings, the Kings rank 19th in the league, and our models project them to finish with a record of 35-47 while giving them just a 6.8 percent chance of making the playoffs. Their offense ranks an impressive ninth, according to our metrics, but the defense checks in at 22nd.
