Heat reportedly off Hassan Whiteside to Trail Blazers for Moe Harkless, Meyers Leonard
The Miami Heat are trading center Hassan Whiteside to the Portland Trail Blazers for small forward Moe Harkless and forward/center Meyers Leonard, reports ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
The Heat finally found a taker for the $27 million left on Whiteside's expiring deal after shopping the big man for a while. Bam Adebayo is now firmly locked in as Miami's starting center while Whiteside will take over down low in Portland until Jusuf Nurkic recovers from a serious leg injury.
Whiteside averaged 12.3 points, 11.3 rebounds, and 1.9 blocks in 72 games for Miami last season.
