Klay Thompson officially agrees to 5-year, $190 million deal with Warriors
The Golden State Warriors and guard/forward Klay Thompson agreed to a 5-year, $190 million maximum contract.
The deal was reportedly offered to Thompson before the start of free agency and he didn't hesitate to accept. Even though he's expected to miss most of next season while recovering from a torn ACL, the Warriors clearly believe in the player they drafted with the 11th overall pick in 2011. Thompson turned 29 in February.
Klay averaged 21.5 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 1.1 steals, 0.6 blocks, and 3.1 3-pointers in 78 games last season.
