Tony Parker retires after 18 seasons

Charlotte Hornets point guard Tony Parker announced his retirement from the NBA after 18 seasons.

What It Means:

"A lot of different stuff ultimately led me to this decision," Parker said. "But, at the end of the day, I was like, if I can’t be Tony Parker anymore and I can’t play for a championship, I don’t want to play basketball anymore." Parker, 37, spent the first 17 years of his career with the San Antonio Spurs before finishing out with the Hornets this past season. The future Hall of Famer will hang them up as a 4-time NBA champion, 4-time All-NBA selection, and 2007 Finals MVP.

Parker averaged 15.5 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 5.6 assists over 1,254 career games.
