Anthony Davis (back) ruled out for Pelicans Tuesday versus Hawks
New Orleans Pelicans forward/center Anthony Davis (low back strain) will not play on Tuesday versus the Atlanta Hawks, head coach Alvin Gentry said.
Davis was initially listed as probable for this one, but he will wind up sitting out for the second time in three games. Jahlil Okafor will likely start and Cheick Diallo should see more run off the bench. Gentry said Elfrid Payton (wrist) will play, so look for him and Julius Randle to do most of the offensive work.
AD is averaging 16.9 points, 8.4 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 1.4 steals, 1.9 blocks, and 0.6 triples over 11 games since the All-Star break.
