Minnesota Timberwolves trade for forward Robert Covington
The Minnesota Timberwolves acquired Robert Covington, Dario Saric, Jerryd Bayless, and a 2022 second round draft pick from the Philadelphia 76ers in return for Jimmy Butler and Justin Patton.
Minnesota finally decided it was time to move on from Jimmy Buckets and acquired two young players in Covington and Saric. Covington should see minutes right away at small forward or shooting guard and possibly more shots in his new offense.
In 13 games this season, Covington averaged 11 points, 5 rebounds, and 3.6 combined blocks and steals per game.
