Daily Fantasy Basketball Injuries and Updates for 3/23/16

Find the best value for your daily fantasy roster by knowing the latest injuries and updates.

In daily fantasy basketball, every edge matters.

One of the easiest ways to find an edge is to understand what happens to a team when injuries occur. Who stands to benefit? Who might struggle as a result? That's all vital information during the lineup-building process.

What should you know about tonight's slate of games? Let's break it down.

As always, you should make sure to double-check our NBA Player News page before finalizing your lineup.

The Definites

DeMarcus Cousins is officially out tonight for the Kings. This is great news for Rudy Gay, Kosta Koufos, and Willie Cauley-Stein. Gay's Usage Rate increases from 22% to 27% when Cousins is off the floor. Koufas and Cauley-Stein are interesting options because their minutes will increase by a good amount. They are cheap enough to take a flyer on. Gay will likely have the biggest value increase and will likely have high ownership percentages.

Jonas Valanciunas is back and will play for the Raptors tonight. This news puts a stop to the Bismack Biyombo train that has been rolling for a week now.

Chandler Parsons is out for at least the next three games, and Rick Carlisle said the Mavericks will "rely heavily" on Wesley Matthews. This is great news for Matthews, and while he comes at a very inexpensive price, he may help you win some leagues tonight with his value. Our algorithms love Matthews tonight and most likely for the next few nights as well until his price catches up to his production.

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope is out for tonight's game due to an illness. Rookie Stanley Johnson will probably draw the start for the Pistons in his absence. Johnson has been effective in the past with Caldwell-Pope in street clothes. Johnson is just $3,900 on FanDuel and will have a great opportunity to pay at least five times his salary.

The To-Be-Determined List

D'Angelo Russell may sit out tonight after exiting the game early last night. If he is sidelined, Jordan Clarkson and Marcelo Huertas will see the biggest bump. They will both handle the ball more and see a jump in playing time as well.

Alex Len will see extended minutes tonight with fellow big man Tyson Chandler most likely sitting out tonight. Chandler left the game at halftime last time out. Another player on the Suns that will benefit a lot is Jon Leuer. Leuer played 32 minutes off the bench last game and has a good chance to start tonight. He is a very solid option for daily fantasy because he is just $4,000 on FanDuel.
