NBA Daily Fantasy Helper: Thursday 5/9/19

Both the Nuggets and Raptors can advance to the Conference Finals with wins tonight. Who should we target in DFS on this high-stakes slate?

If you're new to daily fantasy basketball -- maybe you started your DFS journey during the MLB or NFL seasons, or maybe basketball is your sport and this will be your first year giving it a shot -- you're in for a treat. The NBA scene changes hugely on a week-to-week, day-to-day, and -- depending on injury news -- even a minute-to-minute basis, making every slate a unique one that requires an ever-changing approach.

With so much changing so quickly, we're here with plenty of tools to help you out. We have daily projections, a matchup heat map, a lineup optimizer, and a ton of other great resources to help give you an edge.

We'll also be coming at you with this primer every day, breaking down a few of the day's top plays at each price point.

Let's take a look at who you should target on today's main slate.

Best of the Best

Nikola Jokic ($11,200): Jokic has been an absolute monster in the postseason. He's only failed to crack 50 FanDuel points three times in 12 games, and he has yet to post fewer than 41.1 in a playoff game. He's even eclipsed 65 FanDuel points more times (four) than he's fallen below 50, and his 57.5 per game are a playoff high, 9.6 points higher than anyone else on tonight's slate. He played a fairly low 34.2 minutes in his last outing, but that game was decided by 26 points, and that was the first time he played fewer than 37.2 since Game 5 of the first round (another blowout). The Denver Nuggets are four-point underdogs against the Portland Trail Blazers tonight, so this should be another close game, giving Jokic the potential for huge minutes and the highest upside on the slate.
