NBA Daily Fantasy Helper: Monday 1/28/19

Kemba Walker has been playing huge minutes lately, and that should translate to big production against the Knicks. Who else should you roster tonight?

If you're new to daily fantasy basketball -- maybe you started your DFS journey during the MLB or NFL seasons, or maybe basketball is your sport and this will be your first year giving it a shot -- you're in for a treat. The NBA scene changes hugely on a week-to-week, day-to-day, and -- depending on injury news -- even a minute-to-minute basis, making every slate a unique one that requires an ever-changing approach.

With so much changing so quickly, we're here with plenty of tools to help you out. We have daily projections, a matchup heat map, a lineup optimizer, and a ton of other great resources to help give you an edge.

We'll also be coming at you with this primer every day, breaking down a few of the day's top plays at each price point.

Let's take a look at who you should target on today's main slate.

Best of the Best

Kyrie Irving ($10,500): With at least 56 FanDuel points in four of his last five games, Irving -- who is averaging only 43.7 fantasy points per game this season -- may hit some negative regression at some point. The recent uptick production isn't coming without an increase in volume, though, as he's averaging 36.9 minutes and 21.0 field goal attempts per game over those five, compared to 32.6 minutes and 18.0 field goal attempts per game on the year. With Kyrie averaging a career-best 1.34 FanDuel points per minute on the season, the increase in workload is especially appealing. Irving also draws a reasonable matchup tonight, taking on a Brooklyn Nets team that sits 17th in defensive rating, and the Boston Celtics' 116.0-point implied total is Monday's second-highest.
