NBA Daily Fantasy Helper: Wednesday 1/23/19

The absence of Anthony Davis gives a big boost to Julius Randle's fantasy value. Who else should you target on tonight's 10-game slate?

If you're new to daily fantasy basketball -- maybe you started your DFS journey during the MLB or NFL seasons, or maybe basketball is your sport and this will be your first year giving it a shot -- you're in for a treat. The NBA scene changes hugely on a week-to-week, day-to-day, and -- depending on injury news -- even a minute-to-minute basis, making every slate a unique one that requires an ever-changing approach.

With so much changing so quickly, we're here with plenty of tools to help you out. We have daily projections, a matchup heat map, a lineup optimizer, and a ton of other great resources to help give you an edge.

We'll also be coming at you with this primer every day, breaking down a few of the day's top plays at each price point.

Let's take a look at who you should target on today's main slate.

Best of the Best

James Harden ($13,500): This James Harden hot streak has now reached 20 games -- dating back to December 13. He has not scored fewer than 51.7 FanDuel points in those games, with more games of at least 70 FanDuel points (9) than with fewer than 60 (5). In that time, his 67.3 FanDuel points per game rank first in the NBA, Anthony Davis' 65.5 come in second, and nobody else has more than 55.8. With Davis injured, Harden stands alone as the clear-cut top stud in fantasy. Even on a 10-game slate with a huge price tag, that makes him an incredibly tough fade. That's also made especially true tonight by a matchup with the New York Knicks and their 29th-ranked defensive rating.
