NBA Daily Fantasy Helper: Saturday 1/12/19

Anthony Davis has been superb lately, and he draws a nice matchup with Minnesota. Who else should you go after on Saturday's main slate?

If you're new to daily fantasy basketball -- maybe you started your DFS journey during the MLB or NFL seasons, or maybe basketball is your sport and this will be your first year giving it a shot -- you're in for a treat. The NBA scene changes hugely on a week-to-week, day-to-day, and -- depending on injury news -- even a minute-to-minute basis, making every slate a unique one that requires an ever-changing approach.

With so much changing so quickly, we're here with plenty of tools to help you out. We have daily projections, a matchup heat map, a lineup optimizer, and a ton of other great resources to help give you an edge.

We'll also be coming at you with this primer every day, breaking down a few of the day's top plays at each price point.

Let's take a look at who you should target on today's main slate, which starts at 7:00 p.m. EST.

Best of the Best

Russell Westbrook ($12,400): The game on Thursday between the San Antonio Spurs and Oklahoma City Thunder ended up going into double overtime, with the Spurs coming out on top, 154-147. In that game, Westbrook went wild, scoring 24 points, racking up 24 assists, pulling down 13 rebounds and tacking on 2 steals in 50 minutes of court time. He finished with a mammoth FanDuel score of 78.6 points. While this type of production is likely not repeatable in the rematch between these two squads if the game does not go into overtime (twice), it does show off Russ' massive ceiling. He and the next guy we'll talk about are on another level when looking at players to build around.
