3 Daily Fantasy Basketball Players to Avoid on 2/6/18

Tim Hardaway Jr. is already in a rough shooting slump, and things won't get any easier at home against the Milwaukee Bucks. Which other NBA players should you fade for Tuesday's DFS contests?

In daily fantasy basketball, finding players you want to roster is a lot easier than finding players to avoid.

You can find a ton of great information and research on guys you might want to include in your DFS NBA lineups, but what about guys you may want to lessen your exposure to, or even fade altogether?

Avoiding players whose matchups or situations aren't as great as they seem can often be just as important as finding the best targets. After all, it takes only one player to sink a lineup. Searching for the landmines could mean the difference between winning and losing your contests. Which players should we avoid tonight?

Terry Rozier, PG, Boston Celtics

FanDuel Price: $7,000

FanDuel has sent Terry Rozier's price tag through the roof on Tuesday, but he may be a landmine if Kyrie Irving returns from his three-game absence. Irving traveled with the Boston Celtics to Toronto and is likely going to come down to a game-time decision.

If Irving plays, Rozier is obviously a full-on fade, but even if Irving sits again, Rozier still has a tough matchup against the Toronto Raptors. They're limiting point guards to just 0.86 FanDuel points per minute this season, so there's a lot of risk at Rozier's current price point until we know more about Irving's status.

Tim Hardaway Jr., SG, New York Knicks

FanDuel Price: $5,900

Tim Hardaway Jr. is in an epic slump right now. Despite being at home on Tuesday, his price, matchup, and recent play make him a strikeout candidate. He's shooting just 5-for-33 (15.2%) over his last three games, and going against the Milwaukee Bucks tonight is not going to help anything.

Last Friday, Hardaway shot 1-for-14 against the Bucks on the road, and while the setting has changed, they still present the same challenges for the Knicks' wing players. Milwaukee is holding shooting guards to 0.78 FanDuel points per minute. Hardaway could bounce back some, but it likely won't be for the 30-plus FanDuel points he needs to exceed value.

Dewayne Dedmon, C, Atlanta Hawks

FanDuel Price: $4,900

Dewayne Dedmon is coming off a huge double-double on Sunday, but there is a chance he sees his minutes and production dip against the Memphis Grizzlies. Dedmon started that game on place of Ersan Ilyasova (illness), but there is a chance Ilyasova returns tonight.

The Atlanta Hawks took Ilyasova off their injury report, and if he returns to the starting lineup, it likely means Dedmon will head back to his reserve role. With Memphis holding centers to a league-best 0.98 FanDuel points per minute, Dedmon is definitely a player you don't want to be over-exposed to after his big game, especially if he starts this contest on the bench.
