3 Daily Fantasy Basketball Players to Avoid on 12/5/17

Carmelo Anthony brings his recent struggles into another tough matchup Tuesday against the Utah Jazz. Which other NBA players are worth keeping off your DFS rosters?

In daily fantasy basketball, finding players you want to roster is a lot easier than finding players to avoid.

You can find a ton of great information and research on guys you might want to include in your DFS NBA lineups, but what about guys you may want to lessen your exposure to -- or even fade altogether?

Avoiding players whose matchups or situations aren't as great as they seem can often be just as important as finding the best targets. After all, it only takes one player to sink a lineup. Searching for the landmines could mean the difference from winning or losing your contests.

Carmelo Anthony, PF, Oklahoma City Thunder

FanDuel Price: $6,800

Carmelo Anthony has struggled in tough matchups over his last two games, and things aren't getting any easier on Tuesday against the Utah Jazz. The Jazz did play Monday night, but they demolished the Washington Wizards and hopefully got plenty of rest in the second half.

Utah has been very good against power forwards this season, limiting them to 0.88 FanDuel points per minute. With the Jazz holding teams to 103.2 points per 100 possessions, our projections are not very high on Anthony tonight. Our models project him for just under 30 FanDuel points. With how he has struggled recently, it's not a great spot for him to bounce back, even at home.

T.J. Warren, SF, Phoenix Suns

FanDuel Price: $6,800

T.J. Warren is coming off a fantastic performance Monday against the Philadelphia 76ers, but with the Phoenix Suns playing on the second night of a back-to-back against the Toronto Raptors, his outlook is much less appealing Tuesday.

The Raptors have been very good against small forwards, limiting them to 0.71 FanDuel points per minute, and rookie swingman OG Anunoby has been a big reason why.

Anunoby and his 8'0" wingspan have limited players he defends to 46.9% shooting within 10 feet. Warren has shot more than half of his attempts inside 10 feet this year, so if we combine that with the road game on no rest, we shouldn't be chasing the points.

Joe Ingles, SF, Utah Jazz

FanDuel Price: $5,000

The Jazz have an implied total of 95.0 tonight, which ranks dead last on this short slate. With a tough matchup against Paul George also on the horizon, you can leave Joe Ingles off your DFS rosters.

The Oklahoma City Thunder are holding small forwards to 0.73 FanDuel points per minute, and even though Ingles put up a nice game against the Thunder earlier in the season, being on the road for the second night of a back-to-back is not going to make things light up for Ingles.
