3 Daily Fantasy Basketball Players to Avoid on 12/01/17

A slumping Rajon Rondo has a lousy matchup against the Utah Jazz and is a logical fade candidate. Who else should you skip in NBA DFS tonight?

In daily fantasy basketball, finding players you want to roster is a lot easier than finding players to avoid.

You can find a ton of great information and research on guys you might want to include in your DFS NBA lineups, but what about guys you may want to lessen your exposure to -- or even fade altogether?

Avoiding players whose matchups or situations aren't as great as they seem can often be just as important as finding the best targets. After all, it only takes one player to sink a lineup. Searching for the landmines could mean the difference from winning or losing your contests.

Andre Drummond, C, Detroit Pistons

FanDuel Price: $8,800

Andre Drummond has been one of the most consistent sources of fantasy value at the center position all season in fantasy hoops. However, there is something about his matchup against Marcin Gortat and the Washington Wizards tonight that makes Drummond less than appealing at his price tag.

Firstly, the Wizards have been solid at limiting the value of opposing centers this season, giving up the seventh-fewest fantasy points per minute to centers. And for whatever reason, Drummond can't seem to have a big game against Gortat.

In their 17 career meetings, Drummond is averaging just 9.1 points and 10.4 rebounds per game. Drummond has just one double-double in his last six games against Gortat, and at a price tag of nearly $9,000, Drummond is a big risk.

Myles Turner, C, Indiana Pacers

FanDuel Price: $7,000

Another center with a tough matchup on Friday is Myles Turner. Not only is he banged up and questionable with a knee injury, but his matchup against Jonas Valanciunas is not an easy one.

The Toronto Raptors are holding opposing centers to 0.96 FanDuel points per minute this season, and Turner has struggled against Valanciunas in the past.

In five career games against one another, Turner is shooting just 35.5% from the floor and averaging 6.2 points and 5.4 rebounds over 29.7 minutes per game.

Rajon Rondo, PG, New Orleans Pelicans

FanDuel Price: $4,800

Even though Rajon Rondo has been playing bigger minutes lately for the New Orleans Pelicans, it hasn't turned into more fantasy value. While that is still a possibility, Rondo's matchup on Friday against the Utah Jazz is not the greatest in terms of fantasy upside.

The Jazz are holding point guards to just 0.77 FanDuel points per minute this season, and with our models only projecting Rondo for 21.5 FanDuel points, it's not an ideal situation on the road in Salt Lake City.
