3 Daily Fantasy Basketball Players to Avoid on 4/11/17

Marvin Williams has a tough matchup against Paul MIllsap tonight. Who else should you avoid in Tuesday's NBA DFS contests?

In daily fantasy basketball, finding players you want to roster is a lot easier than finding players to avoid.

You can find a ton of great information and research on guys you might want to include in your DFS NBA lineups, but what about guys you may want to lessen your exposure to, or even fade altogether?

Avoiding players whose matchups or situations aren't as great as they seem can often be just as important as finding the best targets. After all, it only takes one player to sink a lineup. Searching for the landmines could mean the difference from winning or losing your contests.

Marvin WIlliams, PF, Charlotte Hornets

FanDuel Price: $5,900

While the Charlotte Hornets don't have anything to play for this season, the Atlanta Hawks can clinch the 5 seed in the East with a win, giving them the ability to rest against the Indiana Pacers in their final regular season game prior to the playoffs. So, Atlanta being locked in defensively against Charlotte to make all that happen wouldn't be surprising.

That is going to hurt some Hornets players, most notably Marvin Williams. The power forward has a very tough matchup against Paul Millsap, who has had some success Williams before.

In 18 regular season matchups against Millsap, Williams is shooting just 44.3% from the field. With the Hawks holding his position to just 0.85 FanDuel points per minute, it's better to look for some value elsewhere.

Victor Oladipo, SG, Oklahoma City Thunder

FanDuel Price: $5,600

Victor Oladipo has been in a wicked shooting slump since the start of April -- he owns a 33.9% shooting percentage this month (five games). With the Oklahoma City Thunder having nothing to play for in advance of the playoffs, it wouldn't be shocking to see Oladipo and others get some rest in the form of reduced minutes.

Even if he does get his normal allotment of playing time, the shooting guard is still a risky play. The Minnesota Timberwolves have been solid against the position this season, allowing just 0.77 FanDuel points per minute.

In two games against the Wolves, Oladipo is averaging only 22.1 FanDuel points per game, and our models are projecting him for fewer than 25 FanDuel points.

Nerlens Noel, C, Dallas Mavericks

FanDuel Price: $5,400

Nerlens Noel and the Dallas Mavericks have nothing left to play for this season other than draft positioning. As a result, the big man has seen his minutes decline over the past few games.

He played just nine minutes against the Phoenix Suns two nights ago, and although Tuesday marks Dallas' final home game, there is no need to risk injury at this point.

The matchup against Nikola Jokic also isn't great, but it gets even worse when considering our models are projecting him to not even reach the 15-minute plateau.
