3 Daily Fantasy Basketball Players to Avoid on 2/13/17

Paul George has to square off against Kawhi Leonard in a tough matchup tonight. Who else should you avoid from putting in your lineups for Monday's NBA DFS contests?

In daily fantasy basketball, finding players you want to roster is a lot easier than finding players to avoid.

You can find a ton of great information and research on guys you might want to include in your DFS NBA lineups, but what about guys you may want to lessen your exposure to, or even fade altogether?

Avoiding players whose matchups or situations aren't as great as they seem can often be just as important as finding the best targets. After all, it only takes one player to sink a lineup. Searching for the landmines could mean the difference from winning or losing your contests.

Paul George, SF, Indiana Pacers

FanDuel Price: $8,000

The Indiana Pacers have been one of the best home teams in the NBA this season, but they have a tough test tonight with the San Antonio Spurs coming into town. Paul George will not only have to defend Kawhi Leonard, but he will also have to find a way to score on him.

In prior meetings over the course of their careers, George has had some trouble shooting against Leonard, managing a 41.2% success rate from the floor. PG13 has also never touched the 40-FanDuel-point plateau against the Klaw.

The Spurs and Leonard are allowing just 0.68 FanDuel points per minute to small forwards this season, so it's best to lay off George on Monday, especially since he's playing on no days of rest.

DeAndre Jordan, C, Los Angeles Clippers

FanDuel Price: $7,700

Speaking of tough matchups, there are tons of high-priced DFS players that have landmine potential on Monday, with one of them being DeAndre Jordan. He has to square off against the potential Defensive Player of the Year in Rudy Gobert.

Gobert is holding players he defends to just 41.7% from the floor and 48.3% shooting within six feet of the basket. Considering Jordan hardly shoots the ball anywhere but within six feet of the hoop, it's going to be potentially brutal for him on both ends of the court.

The previous matchups between these two also provide us some context. Jordan has eight career games against the Utah Jazz center, and has racked up more than 35 FanDuel points just once. Given his matchup and price, reaching that number on Monday will be very tough.

Brook Lopez, C, Brooklyn Nets

FanDuel Price: $7,300

Brook Lopez is also dealing with a brutal matchup on Monday, as he and the Brooklyn Nets welcome in Marc Gasol and the Memphis Grizzlies.

Gasol has helped the Grizzlies hold opposing centers to just 0.83 FanDuel points per minute this season, which is the best in the league according to our DvP Matchup Chart.

Lopez has had troubles with Gasol's defense in the past -- in 11 career meetings, Lopez is averaging just 15.1 points, 5.7 rebounds and 1.7 blocks. In their last six meetings dating back to the 2010-11 season, Lopez has managed to shoot just 42.2% from the floor.
