NBA Daily Fantasy Helper: Sunday 1/15/17

James Harden and the Houston Rockets have an implied total of 122 points in a dreamy matchup against the Brooklyn Nets. Which other players are in a good spot on Sunday's four-game main slate?

If you're new to daily fantasy basketball -- maybe you started your DFS journey during the MLB or NFL seasons, or maybe basketball is your sport and this will be your first year giving it a shot -- you're in for a treat. The NBA scene changes hugely on a week-to-week, day-to-day, and depending on injury news, even a minute-to-minute basis, making every slate a unique one that requires an ever-changing approach.

With so much changing so quickly, we're here with plenty of tools to help you out. We have daily projections, a matchup heat map, a lineup optimizer and a handful of other awesome tools to help give you an edge.

We'll also be coming at you with a primer every day, breaking down a few of the day's top plays at each price point.

Let's take a look at who you should target on today's slate, which starts at 6 p.m. EST and features four games.

Best of the Best

Russell Westbrook ($12,500): He's costly, but Westbrook is Westbrook. He is averaging 30.8 points, 10.7 rebounds, 10.5 assists and 1.4 steals per game -- which all adds up to a whopping 57.4 FanDuel points per night. While the Sacramento Kings have defended point guards pretty well, allowing the eighth-fewest points to the position, they do rank a lowly 24th in defensive rating. We project Westbrook for 55.1 FanDuel points, and with a 1.5-point spread, there's no need to be concerned about a blowout, which you can't say for James Harden, the night's other top option.
