5 Daily Fantasy Basketball Value Plays for 1/10/17

Jerian Grant should have an opportunity to rack up lots of minutes for the Bulls on Tuesday. Which other low-cost options are in a good spot?

One of the keys to finding success in daily fantasy basketball is uncovering potential value plays. If you're looking to roster a stud player or two, you need to consider squeezing in one of these lower-priced options into your lineup.

Let's take a look at five players who can help fill in the gaps in your lineup.

Jerian Grant, PG, Chicago Bulls

FanDuel Price: $3,600
Projected FanDuel Points: 24.0
Projected FanDuel Value: 6.65

The Chicago Bulls will have a thin roster, as they'll be without Dwyane Wade (rest) and Jimmy Butler (illness) on Tuesday. That means Jerian Grant will have an opportunity to play a lot more minutes, and while Michael Carter-Williams has stepped into the Bulls' backcourt picture, Grant is still holding his own in limited play. He's averaged 8 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 2 assists in 21.1 minutes over his last three games.

Grant has the highest projected value among all point guards tonight and, at a near-minimum salary, may be worthy as a flier.

Jeremy Lamb, SG, Charlotte Hornets

FanDuel Price: $4,100
Projected FanDuel Points: 29.1
Projected FanDuel Value: 7.29

Jeremy Lamb could see more run since the Charlotte Hornets have been hampered and will be without Nicolas Batum and Cody Zeller. Over nine games in which Lamb has logged 20-plus minutes, he's averaged 15.3 points, 7.7 rebounds, and 1.4 assists.

According to our tools, Lamb is trending as the hottest player among all positions on Tuesday's slate. He's playing 76.7% above his season average in terms of fantasy points per night over his last five games.

Maurice Harkless, SF, Portland Trail Blazers

FanDuel Price: $4,500
Projected FanDuel Points: 21.2
Projected FanDuel Value: 4.72

The Portland Trail Blazers are playing a fully healthy roster led by their All-Star back court, but Maurice Harkless has been quietly having a career year down low with averages of 11.7 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 1.2 steals in 30.8 minutes. Even with the return of Al-Farouq Aminu, he will continue to see ample playing time.

Harkless will have a great opportunity versus the Los Angeles Lakers, who offer the best matchup to opposing small forwards among teams playing. Furthermore, the Blazers have third-highest implied total on the slate with 112.25 points in a matchup with a total over/under of 222.5, the second-highest on Tuesday.

Derrick Favors, PF, Utah Jazz

FanDuel Price: $4,500
Projected FanDuel Points: 28.3
Projected FanDuel Value: 6.3

Derrick Favors has been warming up and seeing a gradual increase in playing time since the beginning of the new year. Over his past four games, Favors has been averaging 10 points, 5.8 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 1.3 steals in 28.5 minutes.

Since he's projected to score the seventh-highest FanDuel points at his position, he's worth considering as a value play with such a low price tag.

Spencer Hawes, C, Charlotte Hornets

FanDuel Price: $3,800
Projected FanDuel Points: 23.1
Projected FanDuel Value: 6.07

As mentioned above, the Hornets will be without a couple of key frontcourt players, which bodes well for Spencer Hawes. He's played well in limited time this season, with per-36 averages of 14.8 points, 8.1 rebounds, 3.6 assists, and 1.6 blocks.

Hawes owns the highest projected value among all centers and will likely see increased playing time versus the run-and-gun Houston Rockets.
