5 Daily Fantasy Basketball Value Plays for 12/15/16

Langston Galloway has been thriving recently. Which other low-cost options are in a good spot tonight?

One of the keys to finding success in daily fantasy basketball is uncovering potential value plays. If you're looking to roster a stud player or two, you need to consider squeezing in one of these lower-priced options into your lineup.

Let's take a look at five players who can help fill in the gaps in your lineup.

Patty Mills, PG, San Antonio Spurs

FanDuel Price: $4,400
Projected FanDuel Points: 19.9
Projected FanDuel Value: 4.52

Patty Mills has scored double figures in six of his last seven games, including an average of 14.3 over his last four outings. Regular starter Tony Parker is only averaging 1.9 more minutes than Mills over the last three games. The San Antonio Spurs are playing the second game of a back-to-back, which could mean more rest for Parker.

The Spurs visit the Phoenix Suns, who offer the second-best matchup to opposing point guards among teams playing tonight, so Mills looks like a great value option.

Langston Galloway, SG, New Orleans Pelicans

FanDuel Price: $4,100
Projected FanDuel Points: 16.7
Projected FanDuel Value: 4.08

Langston Galloway has been sizzling over his past five games, with averages of 17.8 points and 3.8 three-pointers made. With the New Orleans Pelicans rotation being hampered with injuries and inconsistent scorers, Galloway has been a welcome source of reliable offense.

With Tim Frazier out because of a wrist injury and Tyreke Evans probable for his season debut, Galloway has an opportunity to match or exceed his recent production.

Doug McDermott, SF, Chicago Bulls

FanDuel Price: $3,500
Projected FanDuel Points: 15.5
Projected FanDuel Value: 4.43

Doug McDermott has played three mediocre games since being cleared from a concussion. He's scored just 8 points in each of those contests, but is averaging 26.2 minutes, which is slightly higher than his pre-concussion workload.

The Chicago Bulls battle the slumping Milwaukee Bucks, who have allowed 115.3 points during their current three-game losing streak, and only two teams offer better matchups to opposing small forwards than the Bucks.

Thaddeus Young, PF, Indiana Pacers

FanDuel Price: $4,900
Projected FanDuel Points: 25.7
Projected FanDuel Value: 5.24

With the exception of a 24-point performance last Sunday, Thaddeus Young has put up some paltry stat lines over his past five games. Furthermore, the usually pick-pocketing Young has only collected five steals during this recent seven-game stretch.

Young is being set up for a bounce back, as the Indiana Pacers play against the Pelicans, who give up the second-most average FanDuel points to opponents among teams playing on Thursday's slate. Also, Young has the second-highest projected value among power forwards, according to our metrics.

JaVale McGee, C, Golden State Warriors

FanDuel Price: $3,500
Projected FanDuel Points: 23.5
Projected FanDuel Value: 6.71

JaVale McGee could see extended playing time on Thursday, but it depends on the availability of Zaza Pachulia. Over six games in which McGee has played 10-plus minutes, he is averaging 9.0 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks.

The Golden State Warriors host the New York Knicks in a potential blowout game with a spread of 14 points. McGee boasts the highest overall projected value among all players, and priced at the minimum salary, McGee is low-risk and a potentially high-reward flier.
