5 Daily Fantasy Basketball Value Plays for 11/17/16

Evan Turner should see big minutes tonight against an uptempo Houston Rockets team. Which other low-cost players are in a good spot?

One of the keys to finding success in daily fantasy basketball is uncovering potential value plays. If you're looking to roster a stud player or two, you need to consider squeezing in one of these lower-priced options into your lineup.

Let's take a look at five players who can help fill in the gaps in your lineup tonight.

Sergio Rodriguez, PG, Philadelphia 76ers

FanDuel Price: $5,000
Projected FanDuel Points: 21.5

Sergio Rodriguez is coming off a season-high 12-assist game, his third game with double digit assists this year. On the season, Rodriguez is averaging 6.5 assists per game, good for sixth-best in the league. If you're into narratives, Rodriguez may be extra motivated tonight when the Philadelphia 76ers visit the Minnesota Timberwolves as he will be matched up against fellow Spaniard, Ricky Rubio. But you should be more excited by the fact Minnesota allows the ninth-most points to opposing point guards.

Rodney McGruder, SG, Miami Heat

FanDuel Price: $3,600
Projected FanDuel Points: 15.5

Rodney McGruder will see more minutes tonight with Justise Winslow out with a wrist injury. McGruder started and played a career-high 37 minutes last game. He has averaged 8.0 points, 2.7 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.3 steals in 25.6 minutes over his past three games. The Miami Heat host the Milwaukee Bucks, who give up the fourth-most steals to opposing shooting guards.

Evan Turner, SF, Portland Trail Blazers

FanDuel Price: $3,900
Projected FanDuel Points: 19.6

Evan Turner has not seen a dramatic boost in numbers during Al-Farouq Aminu's four-game absence, but he did have his best game of the season earlier this week with 14 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists versus the Denver Nuggets. Turner could put up a similar all-around game tonight when the Portland Trail Blazers play against the Houston Rockets, who allow the most points and highest pace to opposing small forwards.

Trey Lyles, PF, Utah Jazz

FanDuel Price: $4,000
Projected FanDuel Points: 17.7

Trey Lyles is coming off an 18-point game in 32 minutes of play, both of which were season-high marks. With the recent knee injury to Derrick Favors, Lyles will likely be given an opportunity to capitalize with a boost in playing time. The Utah Jazz face off against the Chicago Bulls, who are giving up the eighth-most points to power forwards.

Robin Lopez, C, Chicago Bulls

FanDuel Price: $4,600
Projected FanDuel Points: 26.3

Robin Lopez has now scored in double figures in three straight games, and he's snagging 11 boards per game during that span. Lopez also continues to be involved in the swat department as he's recorded at least one block in all but two games this season. The Bulls have a tough matchup tonight versus the Jazz, who allow the second-least points per game, but Lopez's recent form makes him a decent play.
