The 5 Best Value Signings in NBA Free Agency

NBA teams spent big this past week, but who got the most bang for their buck?

The opening day of NBA free agency a little more than a week ago was historic. While players couldn't officially sign their deals until the calendar flipped to July 9, the first 36 hours or so when free agency opened produced a spending bonanza unlike any we've ever seen. Reportedly, players agreed to deals worth more than $1.5 billion in that opening period, as many of the league's biggest names agreed to deals.

With the league's moratorium period ending (much to the chagrin of the Dallas Mavericks, who lost an agreement with DeAndre Jordan), all those contracts agreed to can now become official. Big names like Anthony Davis, Jimmy Butler, LaMarcus Aldridge, Kevin Love and a host of others all put their names on deals that will earn them gobs of money over the next four or five years.

Once you get past those mega-deals, all coming in ahead of the expected salary cap explosion over the next two seasons as money from the NBA's new television deal floods the league, there were some serious bargains to be found on the market.
