Yankees unsure if Aroldis Chapman (knee) will return in 2018
New York Yankees' general manager Brian Cashman said Saturday that the expectation is that relief pitcher Aroldis Chapman (knee) will return this season, but that they can't be sure.
Chapman has made just one appearance since August 14 due to a tendinitis in his knee. Surgery is not needed but it appears the injury has not been improving with the closer resting. David Robertson has been handling ninth-inning duties with Chapman on the DL.
Chapman owns a 2.11 ERA, 1.04 WHIP, and 43.3% strikeout rate with 31 saves in 47 innings pitched this season.
