Cardinals claim Tyson Ross off waivers
The St. Louis Cardinals have claimed pitcher Tyson Ross off waivers from the San Diego Padres.
Ross was claimed Sunday and will officially be added to the roster on Monday. His former team, the Padres have just over 48 hours to work out a trade before letting him go for nothing. He's owed more than $500,000 over the rest of the year, and the Cardinals, ravaged by injuries to their staff, are in need of some pitching help.
Through 22 starts, Ross is just 6-9 with a 4.45 ERA and 1.33 WHIP in 2018.
