Nathan Eovaldi scratched from Rays' start Wednesday, traded to Red Sox
The Boston Red Sox acquired starting pitcher Nathan Eovaldi from the Tampa Bay Rays in exchange for starter Jalen Beeks.
Eovaldi was scheduled to start for the Rays on Wednesday afternoon against the New York Yankees, but he will be replaced on the mound by Ryne Stanek and instead pack his bags for Boston. The 28-year-old right-hander is in the final year of his contract.
Eovaldi averaged 28.7 FanDuel points and went 3-4 in 10 starts for the Rays, while recording a 4.26 ERA and 0.98 WHIP with 53 strikeouts and 8 walks across 57 innings.
