Joey Lucchesi recalled by Padres, starting in Monday’s opener
San Diego Padres pitcher Joey Lucchesi has been recalled from Triple-A El Paso and is starting on Monday against the New York Mets.
Eric Lauer's start has been pushed back to Tuesday in a corresponding rotation move. Lucchesi was optioned to the minors a few days before the break to allow the Padres to maximize their roster space around the time off. The 25-year-old rookie left-hander owns a 4-5 record through 14 starts, while spinning a 3.34 ERA with 69 strikeouts and 25 walks across 67 1/3 innings.
numberFire's models project Lucchesi to score 6.3 FanDuel points at a cost of $2,300 on Monday.
