Cleveland's Bradley Zimmer undergoes shoulder surgery, out 8-12 months
Cleveland Indians outfielder Bradley Zimmer underwent arthroscopic surgery on his shoulder on Friday, and is expected to be out for 8-12 months.
It was known that the 25-year-old was going to require surgery after spending the last month on the shelf, but this is the first news of just how long he is expected to be sidelined. With that timeline, it is no guarantee that he will be ready to go to start the 2019 regular season.
Zimmer made only 114 plate appearances in 34 games this season, slashing .226/.281/.330 with a weak .271 wOBA.
