Miles Mikolas (paternity) to start for Cardinals in Sunday's finale
St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Miles Mikolas (paternity) will start in Sunday's series finale against the Chicago Cubs.
Mikolas was placed on the paternity leave list Wednesday as he continues to be with his pregnant wife but it won't cost him a turn in the rotation. The 29-year-old right-hander will be preceded by Carlos Martinez in Thursday's series opener, Jack Flaherty on Friday, and then Luke Weaver and John Gant in Saturday's doubleheader.
Mikolas averaged 32.0 FanDuel points and went 10-3 in 19 starts before the break while spinning a 2.79 ERA with 83 strikeouts and 20 walks across 119 1/3 innings.
