Cardinals' Miles Mikolas placed on paternity leave list
St. Louis Cardinals starting pitcher Miles Mikolas is on the paternity leave list.
Mikolas missed the All-Star game to be with his wife, who is pregnant with the couple's second child, and he won't be back with the club for the Cardinals' first game out of the break on Thursday against the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field. It's a five-game series, however, so the 29-year-old right-hander will likely return to the rotation before the divisional matchup is over. Fellow righty Matt Bowman was recalled from Triple-A Memphis in a corresponding roster move.
Mikolas averaged 32.0 FanDuel points and went 10-3 in 19 starts before the break while spinning a 2.79 ERA with 83 strikeouts and 20 walks across 119 1/3 innings.
