Gleyber Torres (hip) could return to Yankees on July 23
New York Yankees second baseman Gleyber Torres (hip) could be activated from the disabled list on July 23.
"I think I’m ready right now," Torres said. "I’m just waiting for more (rehab) games. If everything is all right I’m back to play." The 21-year-old rookie completed some base running drills in Washington, D.C. on Monday, and he's scheduled for a brief minor league rehab assignment with High-A Tampa over the weekend. Assuming all goes well, he should be back for a road date against the Tampa Bay Rays next Monday. Torres has been out since July 4 due to a right hip strain.
Torres was averaging 11.1 FanDuel points through 63 games while posting a .294/.350/.555 slash with 15 home runs and 42 RBI across 241 plate appearances this season.
