Alcides Escobar starting for Kansas City on Monday night

Kansas City Royals shortstop Alcides Escobar is starting on Monday night versus the Minnesota Twins.

What It Means:

Escobar will replace Adalberto Mondesi at shortstop and bat eighth versus Twins right-hander Jose Berrios in Monday's series opener. As a result, Mondesi will play designated hitter while Lucas Duda mans first base and Mike Moustakas covers the hot corner. Hunter Dozier will be available off the Royals' bench.

numberFire's models project Escobar to score 7.4 FanDuel points at a cost of $2,200 on Monday.
