Phillies ink Danny Espinosa to a Minor League contract
The Philadelphia Phillies have signed infielder Danny Espinosa to a Minor League contract.
The 31-year-old Espinosa bounced around between three teams in 2017, most recently suiting up for the Tampa Bay Rays. He is expected to report to Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
Espinosa struggled from the dish in 2017, slashing an ugly .173/.245/.278 with a .232 wOBA over 295 plate appearances. His 2018 Minor League work hasn't been any more encouraging, slashing .190/.236/.276 at the Triple-A level.
