Rays' Kevin Kiermaier (thumb) on track to return Tuesday
Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Kevin Kiermaier (thumb) is on track to be activated from the disabled list Tuesday.
Kiermaier has been out since mid-April with a torn ligament in his right thumb and had been targeting Friday for his return. Looks like he talked his way into upping the date as he is now expected to return to action on Tuesday, following a successful workout on Monday. Mallex Smith will likely lose at-bats with Kiermaier back in action.
numberFire's algorithms project Kiermaier for a .244 average with 15 runs scored in 134 plate appearances the rest of the season.
