Nolan Fontana sent down by Los Angeles
Los Angeles Angels infielder Nolan Fontana was optioned on Saturday.
What It Means:
Starting shortstop Andrelton Simmons has been activated from the disabled list, so Fontana will head back to the minors for the foreseeable future.
In 12 plate appearances with the Angels, Fontana has a .091 batting average with a .530 OPS.
