Giants' Evan Longoria diagnosed with fractured hand
San Francisco Giants third baseman Evan Longoria has been diagnosed with a fractured fifth metacarpal after being hit by a pitch on Thursday.
Longoria exited Thursday's game after being hit in the left hand by a pitch, and it sounds like he'll be out a good deal longer. No timetable has been given yet, but it's estimated he could be out for up to two months. Pablo Sandoval and Alen Hanson could see more playing time while Longoria is out.
Prior to the injury, Longoria was batting .247/.276/.435 with 10 home runs and 34 RBIs.
