Josh Donaldson (calf) could be activated off Jays' DL on Wednesday

Toronto Blue Jays manager John Gibbons indicated Tuesday that third baseman Josh Donaldson (calf) could be activated off the disabled list Wednesday.

What It Means:

Donaldson has been out of action since May 28 with a calf strain. He was aiming to return over the weekend, but the team decided to play it safe with the slugger as they want him at 100% to showcase him before the trade deadline. Yangervis Solarte has been filling in at third base in Donaldson's place.

numberFire's algorithms project Donaldson for 14 homers, 39 RBI, and a .257 batting average in 284 plate appearances the rest of the season.
