Giants' Brandon Belt (appendicitis) to start swinging on Monday
San Francisco Giants first baseman Brandon Belt (appendicitis) will start taking swings at the club's spring training facility in Arizona on Monday.
What It Means:
Belt received an emergency appendectomy on June 1 and hasn't played since but he's hoping to return for Friday's series opener against the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Giants will likely provide an update after Monday's session.
Belt averaged 12.0 FanDuel points in 53 games before landing on the disabled list. He owns a .307/.403/.547 slash with 11 home runs and 31 RBI across 226 plate appearances this season.
