Pirates place Starling Marte (oblique) on disabled list
The Pittsburgh Pirates have placed outfielder Starling Marte (oblique) on the 10-day disabled list.
Marte is dealing with a strained oblique, and although he didn't think he would need a stint on the DL, the Pirates are going to play things safe. Austin Meadows has been called up from Triple-A in a corresponding move.
Marte is off to a strong start in 2018, hitting .308/.366/.503 with 30 runs, 6 home runs, 19 RBIs, and 10 stolen bases.
