Agent: Ichiro could explore playing opportunities in 2019
According to The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal, Ichiro Suzuki's agent, John Boggs, said that he could explore playing opportunities for the 2019 season.
Earlier today, the Seattle Mariners announced that they would be releasing Ichiro but retaining him in a different role with the club. Many believed that this meant that he was retiring but it appears that that might not be the case. Some expect Ichiro to return for next year's opening series in Japan while others say he could end up elsewhere.
At age 44, Ichiro has appeared in 15 games, hitting .205 with 5 runs scored this season.
