Kris Medlen starting Friday as Diamondbacks take on Astros
The Sports Xchange's Jack Magruder reports Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher Kris Medlen will start Friday's game against the Houston Astros.
Medlen will be taking the rotation spot of Robbie Ray (oblique), who was placed on the disabled list Monday. The 32-year-old Medlen hasn't pitched in the majors since 2016 and hasn't had much success at Triple-A this season.
In 4 starts at Triple-A Reno, Medlen is 0-3 with a 6.00 ERA and 4 walks per nine innings.
