Cubs' Dan Haren announces retirement from baseball
Chicago Cubs pitcher Dan Haren announced that he is retiring from baseball.
With the Cubs eliminated from the playoffs on Wednesday, Haren decided to make his retirement announcement official, something he had earlier mentioned was likely to happen.
Haren made 32 starts this season, posting a 3.60 ERA, although his 4.69 xFIP suggests the total should be higher. He finishes his career with a career 3.75 ERA, 3.69 xFIP, and the fourth best career strikeout to walk ratio (4.03) among starting pitchers with at least 2,000 innings pitched.
