Ken Giles unavailable for Astros due to back injury
Houston Astros reliever Ken Giles has been unavailable for the past few games due to a back issue, manager A.J. Hinch revealed Thursday.
"When we got to Seattle he reported a little bit of back soreness and it’s progressively gotten a little bit worse to where he can’t go yet," Hinch explained. "Right now given that he can’t move around and do the things that he normally does, it’s a little concerning." Giles hasn't pitched since Saturday and it sounds like he may be headed for a stint on the disabled list. Chris Devenski has been handling things in the ninth inning for Houston.
Giles is averaging 2.5 FanDuel points in six appearances this season while recording a 3.60 ERA and 1.20 WHIP with 2 strikeouts and 1 save across five innings.
