Tomas Telis playing designated hitter as Marlins visit Yankees
Miami Marlins catcher Tomas Telis is starting at designated hitter on Monday against the New York Yankees.
This is the first start of the season for Telis, who will bat sixth versus Yankees right-hander Luis Severino on the road as the Marlins play with a DH under American League rules. The 26-year-old is 3-for-14 (.214) in 14 games this season.
