Rays' Nathan Eovaldi might require another elbow procedure
Tampa Bay Rays starting pitcher Nathan Eovaldi has loose bodies in his right elbow and could be facing arthroscopic surgery.
Eovaldi, who missed all of 2017, has already undergone two career Tommy John surgeries and this procedure would likely sideline him for a significant part of 2018. The 28-year-old right-hander was scheduled to make his season debut on Sunday against the Boston Red Sox but now Jake Faria will likely slide into the Rays' four-man rotation.
As of now, numberFire's models project Eovaldi to record a 4.47 ERA and 1.38 WHIP while striking out 48 batters and walking 26 across 70 2/3 innings this season.
