Diamondbacks option Yasmany Tomas to Triple-A Reno
The Arizona Diamondbacks optioned outfielder Yasmany Tomas to Triple-A Reno.
It's a bit of a surprising move because Tomas has been playing well this spring and he is still owed $42.5 million by the Diamondbacks. There is a chance he could be traded, but if another team can't be found to deal with, Tomas should eventually make his way to the D-backs' 25-man roster.
Our models project Tomas for a .250 batting average in 2018, to go with 9 home runs, 23 runs scored, and 28 RBI over 192 plate appearances.
