Mariners' Nelson Cruz only has Grade 1 quad strain
Seattle Mariners designated hitter Nelson Cruz has been diagnosed with a Grade 1 quad strain, which is the least severe category of strain.
It's good news for Cruz, who is expected to rest his quad over the next few days. Cruz downplayed the injury, and for the moment it looks like he should be on track for Opening Day.
This season, numberFire projects Cruz to hit .266 with 78 runs, 33 home runs, and 104 RBIs over 614 plate appearances.
