Mariners' Felix Hernandez (forearm) believes he'll be ready for start of season
According to the Seattle Times' Ryan Divish, Seattle Mariners pitcher Felix Hernandez said he believes he'll be ready by opening day.
Hernandez added that the throwing schedule isn't an issue and the hope is that he'll get a bullpen session in followed by a game. In reference to delaying his throwing program, Hernandez said, "I've done this before on purpose." The 31-year-old hasn't pitched since being hit by a comebacker in late February.
In 16 starts, Hernandez went 6-5 with a 5.02 FIP and 78 strikeouts in 2017.
