Royals' Jorge Bonifacio suspended 80 games for positive PED test
Kansas City Royals outfielder Jorge Bonifacio has been suspended 80 games by Major League Baseball for testing positive for a performance-enhancing drug.
Bonifacio tested positive for the drug, Boldenone, which is the steroid Jenrry Mejia and David Paulino have been popped for recently, Bonifacio will start his suspension on Opening Day, and he will miss the first half of the season. That could very well affect his role in the Royals' lineup, as Bonifacio was expected to challenge for a starting role in the outfield.
Before the suspension, our models projected Bonifacio for a .247 batting average over 515 plate appearances, with 15 home runs, 55 runs scored, and 53 RBI.
