Corey Seager (elbow) on track to play shortstop for Dodgers next week
Los Angeles Dodgers shortstop Corey Seager (elbow) is scheduled to play five innings at his natural position in a minor league game next Monday.
Seager has been working exclusively as a designated hitter so far in Cactus League action after dealing with an elbow injury in the second half of last season, but it looks like the Dodgers are ready for him to return to his standard post at shortstop. There isn't any concern about the youngster's status for Opening Day.
numberFire's models project Seager to bat .290 with 20 home runs, 92 RBI, 91 runs scored, and 4 steals in 625 plate appearances this season.
